GRAMMY®-winning pianist, composer, and music director John Beasley leads an extraordinary all-star ensemble honoring the musical evolution and enduring influence of Miles Davis. Unlimited Miles: Miles Davis at 100 journeys through Davis’ groundbreaking creative eras — from Birth of the Cool and Kind of Blue to his revolutionary electric and fusion years.
The evening continues with a high-energy jam session featuring the Leimert Park Jazz Festival Emerging Artists Collective, showcasing 13 outstanding musicians from our popular Sunday Jazz monthly concert series. Inspired by Miles Davis’ commitment to nurturing new talent, this culminating performance celebrates the next generation of jazz innovators through collaboration, improvisation, and creative exchange.
This performance is supported in part by the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, Joyce & George Wein Foundation, Vladimir & Araxia Buckhantz Foundation, US Bank, and presenting radio station sponsor KJazz 88.1.
